Australian Kelpie / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed Dog

Clara the Dog needs a home

Meet the adorable Miss Clara! She is an incredibly smart seven month old heeler/terrier mix who currently weighs 21 pounds. Clara came from a small rural shelter and can be a bit shy, however, there is no stopping her once she warms up! She currently lives with dogs and is playful, but will also hold her own if a dog gets pushy with her. Clara also lives with children (ages 4 & 5) and has already taught them how to throw the ball for her. She is good with them, however, would need boundaries as she will chase and jump on them if given the chance. Clara has not been around cats, but likes to chase anything that moves. While Clara is an absolute doll and a blast to be around, she is also shy and fearful in new situations. Previous herding dog experience is a must, as well as a commitment to continuing her training. She will also need a fully fenced yard and lots of opportunities for mental and physical exercise. In addition, she walks great on a leash and sleeps without a peep in her crate. Her house training is coming along great, although she doesn't quite know how to ask to go outside yet. Clara is a true gem and is looking for a house full of treats, toys, and new adventures!
